As the great blue heron flies out into the night

They pass like water on our skin

On these Chesapeake winds

I see my reflection in the water, and I wonder who I am
My mind wanders in the forest, and the water breaks the dam
I walk out to the water's edge, and throw a stone into the bay
And I think about the time that's passed, let the ripples carry me away
